The 'Fool For Your Stockings' Interview: Tina Grant!

As you no doubt have discovered by now, I love my job.

It has really been fun indulging my nylon obsession, and sharing it with you.

But I loved my job even more when I got the opportunity to interview beautiful, legendary and (sadly for us) retired nylons and lingerie model Tina Grant.

In addition to having what may well be the most perfect pair of legs for nylon stockings ever, Tina is one of the sweetest, most genuine people in the world.

And I actually got to interview her!

NICK It’s wonderful to have you as Special Correspondent to “Fool For Your Stockings,” Tina, and especially wonderful to have you here with us today. You have a very passionate fan base, and they have been looking forward to this interview!

TINA: Thank you for having me Nick! Yes, passionate is a very good description of my fan base. I love them so much!

NICK So let’s just jump right into the questions.

TINA: Yes, lets!

NICK How old were you when you tried on your first pair of nylons, and what was it like?

TINA: I was 23 years old. Had never worn a pair before then. I loved it and it was incredibly sexy and feminine. I thought they made my legs look so good!

NICK How did you get started as a lingerie and nylon stockings model?

TINA: My ex-husband introduced me to the world of lingerie and stockings. He grew up in a time when women wore them daily and to catch a glimpse of the stocking top was very naughty and exciting. He would photograph me in boudoir attire and when the internet came around, it was only a matter of time before we’d share them with the world.

NICK What was your first nylons modeling gig like? Were you nervous?

TINA: I really don’t remember my first professional gig, since I modeled for my husband for several years. By the time I branched out and had a professional shoot, I was over feeling nervous, really. Just another day at the office.

NICK You engage so well with the camera, with your facial expressions and your eyes. What do you focus on when you engage with the camera?

TINA: I really don’t focus on anything in particular. I have a switch that comes on inside me and I go into auto-pilot. It’s very natural for me to pose and I feel very sexy - so the camera just captures it.

NICK You’ve obviously worn many pairs of stockings from many manufacturers. Do you have a favorite style, or brand that you like best and would recommend?

TINA: I’ve been so spoiled to have most of my stockings sent to me as gifts. Probably my absolute favorite is Magnolia Mill Hosiery. They just fit me perfectly, whereas vintage nylons fit by trial and error.

NICK What length/size nylons do you wear?

TINA: I prefer LONG. I like them to come up to the very top of my thigh. I think vintage sizes were 12.5 long maybe? Nick Peacock [Mr Stocking]knows my size better than I do! (laughing)

NICK Have you ever done a video modeling shoot, or wanted to? If so, what was that experience like for you?

TINA: I have done a few videos and I think my fans appreciated them more than I did. I just preferred still shots. It’s so awkward to see myself on video - I don’t know why that is. But since I’m the one that edited everything, I enjoyed editing still photographs way more than videos.

NICK My readers and I need a definitive ruling from the Queen of Nylons: panties worn over or under a garter belt?

TINA: Over the garter belt. *wink*

NICK I had a question from one of my readers about whether to wear an ankle bracelet over or under your nylons. Do you have an opinion?

TINA: I prefer under my nylons. It’s just easier to take the stockings on and off and never have to mess with the bracelet. For photographs, however, I prefer the look of the bracelet over the nylons. It just looks better in the pictures.

NICK Do you ever wear nylons from time to time when you’re out and about?

TINA: On special occasions I will but I haven’t at all since retirement. In fact, I haven’t put a pair on since November of last year (the last of my photo shoots) and that is the FIRST time in 10 years that I’ve gone longer than a week without wearing them.


NICK How often do you wear pantyhose and tights?

TINA: Never.

NICK You know that you broke a lot of hearts when you retired from modeling. Is there anything you miss now that you’ve been out of the business for a while?

TINA: Probably the reaction from the fans after publishing a new photo set. That is something I definitely miss. Aside from that, I’m enjoying retirement so much!!

NICK I know that you’re also an artist. Could you share with us what you’ve been up to in that regard?

TINA: I have been sketching various things. I’ve also tried acrylic paint, watercolors and collage art. I even bought a book on how to make hardbound books! I’m just feeling so crafty…LOL.

NICK Anything else for your fans, Tina?

TINA: Yes, I’ve had a few fans email me wondering how I was doing - if retirement was agreeing with me and what I was up to. Well, I have been doing very well and I appreciate that you still think of me. I truly believe no other model has a better fan base than what I have.

NICK Thanks so much Tina, for taking the time today to be with all of your fans at “Fool For Your Stockings.” I hope we can do it again!

Erotic Closure: Part One Preview - New Nylons Fiction On Nylon Whispers

My friend Eric runs Nylon Dreams, one of my favorite blogs, where he continues to publish exquisite images of gorgeous, fascinating women in nylons.

Eric is also an excellent writer, unafraid to explore his obsession with nylons and to share his findings with us.

So I was thrilled and honored when Eric chose to debut his full-length novel, "Erotic Closure," on Nylon Whispers, my blog for fine erotic writing.

"Erotic Closure" will be published as a serial on Nylon Whispers, with a new installment appearing every week or so.

Here's a brief excerpt from Part One:


"For me it was a seminal experience. I had seen in one of the pictorials a wonderful; some would say by today’s standards, rubenesque blonde women dressed simply in a black 1 inch elastic band garter belt and black Cuban heeled stockings with a back vertical seam. I was in love. I loved the way the dark sheerness of the stocking met the welt of the stockings and became a stark demarcation line to the soft sinfully milky whiteness of her thigh. I loved the way the garter straps extended perpendicular to the waist band on the belt accentuated her curves: how the stark straightness of the elastic straps only served to round and soften her feminine features. I simply adored how the stocking caught the soft light of the sun and accentuated her ankles, calves and thighs and made more of what was a stunning woman…well more! More of what I began to realize I wanted to see and experience this - That was for sure

"And now here I was looking up at Aunt Sarah’s nylons and foundation wear drying in the still air of the basement. The stockings were carefully pinned to the cord with small bits of cloth so the pins did not mar or damage the stockings. They were of such a fine material you could look at them and not tell that the material was a tube of nylon. It was like you were looking through a slightly tinted piece of single pane glass. The coffee colour contrasted to the virginal whiteness of her girdles, and, since she had removed the garter clips to hand launder these items, the way they stayed up in this particular lingerie style was a mystery to me."

Shepard Fairey: Barack, Blondie, And Molotov Hips With Nylons

I went to the Shepard Fairey "Supply And Demand" exhibition at the Institute of Contemporary Art in Boston yesterday.

Though his name may be unfamiliar, I suspect that his viral image of Barack Obama will not be:


His images of Rock And Roll people were one of my favorite parts of the exhibition.

I first became aware of Shepard Fairey in the early Nineties, when his “Obey Giant” images began appearing on buildings, bridges and a wide range of other urban architecture in Providence and Boston.

After my exposure to the breadth of his work, seen and considered in a museum setting, I’ve concluded (with many others) that Shepard Fairey is this generation’s Andy Warhol, only better.

Be My Baby: Ronnie Spector And The Ronettes In Nylons And Stilettos

The sad demise of Phil Spector, one of Rock and Roll's Founding Fathers, contained at least one positive outcome: it brought Ronnie Spector and the Ronettes to the attention of a whole new generation of music lovers.

And fortunately, we still have some live performance video from 1965, when the girls were really in their prime in every way.

"Be My Baby," with the Phil Spector "wall of sound," still packs an incredible punch, and so do the Ronettes.

Who cares that they're lipsynching?

Apart from how great they were then and are now, and how great looking they were in their uniquely exotic way, they were also wearing nylons and stilettos, folks.

Pinup Model Drea Morsby Losing Her Panties In Nylons, Stilettos And Corset!

It's difficult to believe that Drea Morsby is only twenty years old.

Not only does she channel the powerfully erotic, classic pinup spirit that helped us win a war and survive the Fifties, she has the kind of lovely, lush body that should be the default female ideal for beauty.

I have three comments on this image:
1. Drea is 5'1" and I'm quite partial to girls in this height range.
2. Drea's legs in nylons and heels are -- well, there are just no words. Suffice it to say that I'm typing this with one hand.
3. Drea looks very much like one of my old girlfriends who was 5'2", and wore nylons all the time when we made out.
